HMD Global has launched the Nokia phones beta labs which will allow Nokia smartphone users to test the Android 8.0 Oreo beta before the final OTA update rolls out. The company has started the beta testing with the Nokia 8, however, the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 will follow soon.
HMD Global Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas in a series of tweets has made the news official. Beta testers will be the first ones to test the Android 8.0 which will also allow the company to create a smoother experience before the final version is being rolled out. The company has earlier promised that it will update all the Nokia phone to Android 8.0 Oreo update before the end of the year and it’s good that the company is trying to stand by their promise.

To join the Beta lab, all you need is a working Nokia 8 phone, and you need to create a new beta labs account and validate your device by entering the IMEI number. Once you are done with the sign and validation process, users will get the beta software Over-The-Air (OTA) update on their Nokia 8. Do note that it might take 12 hours for the company to push a build to you from the time of activation.
To share the feedback of the beta, users can use the pre-installed Feedback app or discuss with other beta testers in the Nokia phones community. Nokia will also roll you back over the air if you wish not to test the beta update or stop testing it and go back to Android 7.x nougat. You can even unregister your Nokia phones beta labs account as well.
