Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its android skin on 25th July in an event in China with new features like Smart Assistant, Split Screen and Universal Image Search. MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM started rolling out to Global ROM users on 11th July but many of these features were exclusive to MIUI China ROM till now. This Tuesday Xiaomi started rolling out some of these features to closed Beta users with MIUI Global 7.10.31.
This update bring quick cards support to phones which Xiaomi calls and smart assistant, the user can choose maximum 4 cards available at the moment, Shortcuts, Cricket, Calendar events, Notes. Only the shortcuts card can be customized, these shortcuts can be chosen to perform various actions for various apps as well. Check out the following screenshots.
Apart from these one major change is in the Settings app, like the MIUI China Beta ROM, About phone has been moved to the top under Settings and the updater app icon has been removed now, Updater option is now available only under About Phone settings.
One more noticeable change is in notification panel, now it shows Monthly Data usage along with the Daily Data Usage.
