Apple has rolled out an update to the GarageBand for iOS that bought new Sound Library and Classic beat sequencer. The Sound library lets you download and install new virtual instruments as well as sound and loop packs.
The new sound and loop packs will start off with eight packs and instruments, and the company says that it will bring more packs to the app in the coming days. The new Beat sequencer instrument is inspired by classic drum machines and popular artists who produce Hip-Hop and Electronic music. The app also rocks new Asian Touch Instruments and updates to the drummer that including six additional players.
Apple doesn’t say if third-party will get an option to include their own sound packs right inside of GarageBand. The Sound Library contains a variety of Touch Instruments, Apple loops, Live Loops templates, guitar, and instrument presets and more. The user can access the Sound Library from multiple places within GarageBand and will get notified when a new packs are available.
The Beat Sequencer lets you choose drum sounds from a collection of classic and modern electronic drum kits in a variety of genres from 12 Apple-designed drum kits, and 25 beat patterns. GarageBand lets you explore sounds of Asia by accessing new Touch Instruments that include the traditional Japanese Koto and Taiko Drums, and Chinese Guzheng.
The app is now updated to support super retina display on the iPhone X as well. It also Includes iMessage sticker pack that adds GarageBand instrument icons. You can now do Recording, mixing and exporting a song at 24-bit audio resolution.
The GarageBand 2.3 for iPhone and iPad is available today as a free download on the App Store and is compatible with devices running iOS 11. Download the app from the App Store here.
