Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite smartphones in India last week. The phones went on sale in the country today exclusively on Amazon.in as well as Mi.com today. After the sale Manu Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India said that the company sold over 1,50,000 units of both the phones across the platforms in the sale in just 3 minutes. Second sale is scheduled for November 15, next Wednesday.

Both the phones have a 5.5-inch HD screen and come with a 13-megapixel rear camera. The Redmi Y1 Lite is powered by a Snapdragon 425 and has 2GB RAM, while the Redmi Y1 comes with Snapdragon 435 with 3GB or 4GB RAM, also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor on the back. These also have a dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots and pack a 3080mAh battery.
