VLC media player for iOS optimized for iPhone X, gets support for 4K HEVC Videos

Popular video player app VLC Media player is now optimized for the iPhone X, and it also brings support for 4K videos formatted in HEVC. Since the iPhone X launch, many app developers have started rolling out updates that are optimized for a better user interface on the 5.8-inch iPhone X OLED display.

Like always, VideoLAN has again been quick to adopt the latest features of the iPhones. The app returned to App Store in 2015 after being rejected and pulled back, and the app was launched for Apple TV last year enabling for a wider format playback. The update also fixes  app termination issues on devices running iOS 7 and iOS 8 and also includes some bug fixes.

The new update with version number V2.8.6 is already available via App Store, and if you don’t see the update, you can uninstall and install afresh again.

Download the VLC Media Player for iOS devices from the App Store.
