Samsung launched its T5 portable SSD in India back in August as the successor to its T3 SSD that was launched last year. It has the same compact design, but is faster and comes with a full metal body. We recently unboxed it. Check out the video.

The Samsung T5 weighs just 51 grams, offers up to 540 MB/s transfer speed and USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) interface compared to up to 450MB/s transfer speed and USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) interface in the T3.
The full metal body offers a premium feel unlike the predecessor that had plastic caps with metal part only in the middle. It has shock-resistant metal case and internal support frame.
It is built on Samsung’s latest 64-layer V-NAND technology and comes with USB-C to C for Android smartphones, tablets and compatible Macbooks with USB Type-C port. It also comes with the standard USB-C to A cables for PCs and Macs.
It has AES 256-bit hardware encryption and RoHS2 Compliance. It also comes in Deep Black color for 1TB and 2TB models.
The Samsung T5 SSD starts at Rs. 13,500 (MRP) for 250GB and goes up to Rs. 80,000 (MRP) for 2TB version. You can get it starting at Rs. 9999 on Amazon.in.
