HMD Global estimated to have shipped around 16 million Nokia phones in Q3 2017

HMD Global since it started selling Nokia branded phones just over a year ago has said to have shipped around 16 million units in the Q3 2017. According to the market share report for Q3 2017 shared by analyst firms, they have witnessed strong demand for Android-powered Nokia phones and feature phones as well.

As per data shared by Analyst firm Counterpoint Research to Nokiapoweruser, 2.8 million Nokia Android Smartphones and 13.5 million Nokia Feature phones were shipped by HMD in Q3 2017. In the earlier report, Counterpoint research just mentioned that the HMD (Nokia) has claimed back the 8th global ranking among handset vendors in Q3 2017, but only now we see the actual numbers.

These numbers put Nokia in 3rd place in the feature phone market and 16th in the smartphone vendor rankings. With just 1.3 million shipments in the first half of 2017 and 2.8 million units in Q3 2017, the jump is real and can be termed as strong demand when compared to Q1 and Q2 figures. With the holiday season in the Q4 and wide range of Nokia phones being available globally, the numbers are expected to be on the higher side again.

Except for Nokia 7, which is a China exclusive model, every Nokia phone is currently available either offline or online in India including the flagship Nokia 8. For a brand that made its re-entry a little over a year, the numbers are really impressive and shows the everlasting demand for Nokia phones.
