OnePlus just announced OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Limited Edition smartphone, a day earlier than expected. It unites the iconic sensation of OnePlus Sandstone with a sleek all-aluminum shell, says the company. It is created after 100 prototypes and takes 4 layers to create a body with a comfortable grip and a natural, minimalistic appearance, added OnePlus.
This resembles the 5T Star Wars edition without the Star Wars branding on the back and Star Wars wallpapers, but it has white colored back with smooth Sandstone finish, black colored power button and volume rockers and comes Mineral Red colored alert slider on the left.
OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Limited Edition and comes only in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. It is priced at US$559 / €559 / £499 same as the standard Midnight Black 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage version and will go on sale starting on January 9, at 10AM ET/ 10AM CET/ 10AM GMT depending on the region. It will be available in extremely limited quantities due to its labor and time-intensive development says OnePlus. We should know India availability soon.
Regarding the creation process of the Sandstone Limited Edition 5T, OnePlus said:
This limited-edition device undergoes four increasingly complex processes before it’s ready to hit the market, each of which was designed to ensure both a visually stunning sense of style and an incredible feel. First, we sandblast the aluminum alloy and apply a primer for added protection. A color temperature layer ensures the white tones are balanced and natural. Next, we apply a blend of natural minerals and white oil paint, lending the device its stunning blend of white and gray tones and signature Sandstone feel. Finally, UV light is used to refine the texture of the phone and ensure hardness and durability.
