Google Play Instant lets you tap and play games without installing them

Google Instant Play

Google today introduced ‘Google Play Instant’ that lets you play games without having to install them on your device. The company introduced Instant Apps back in 2016. You can just tap and try a game without having to download it first. Clash Royale, Words with Friends 2, and Bubble Witch 3 Saga, and other titles from Playtika, MZ, Jam City, and Hothead Games are first batch games that are available right away.

Users can access the Google Play instant games on their Android devices by opening the playStore and hover to the Instant Gameplay collection or simply open the “Arcade” in the newly redesigned Google Play Games app and launch any of the “Instant Gameplay” collection games. However, it is not public yet, Google says that it is still in beta and will open it more broadly later this year. The Google Instant App version of a game is less than 10MB in size and demo of some of these Instant games is less than 30 seconds of gameplay.

Google also said that it is working with popular game development platform Unity, and others like Cocos, to add IDE support making it easy for developers to build instant apps. It is also adding useful tools to the Play Console including a new internal testing track that will allow you to quickly test and iterate on new games and features. Google recently opened up its Maps API and its Resonance audio for developers.
