Google has introduced new ‘Shopping Actions program’ as an answer to “where to buy” queries which grew over 85% in the past two years of which around 44% use voice-activated speaker at least weekly to purchase items like groceries and household items. Now the ‘Shopping Actions program’ is aimed at bringing users an easier way to get their shopping tasks done.
With Shopping Actions program, users can use Google Assistant and Search to add products to the universal cart whether they’re on mobile, desktop or even a Google Home device. As for retailers and store owners, they can surface their products on new platforms like the Google Assistant with voice shopping, take advantage of Google’s deep machine learning, AI and natural language processing to offer customers a hands-free, voice-driven shopping experience.
It also lets users effortlessly shop with a shareable list, universal shopping cart and instant checkout with saved payment credentials. Simply put Google is turning the browsing into the shopping experience that works both on Google.com and the Google Assistant. Google is also offering options like 1-click re-ordering, personalized recommendations, and basket-building to make shoppers come back again.
Also, Google also says that Shopping Actions uses a pay-per-sale model where retailers only pay when a sale actually takes place. Shopping Actions appear within the sponsored Shopping Unit on the Google Search page, and on Google.com/Shopping and it also says that no organic rankings are impacted or changed.
