Android Oreo adoption rate climbs to 4.6%, Nougat is now on 30.8% devices

Google is out with Android distribution numbers for the month of April with an Oreo adoption rate now at a decent 4.6% which  includes the Android 8.1 Oreo as well. With Android P right around the corner, this isn’t an exceptional adoption rate.

Back in February, the Oreo adoption rate was at 1.1%, and now at 4.6%, it has seen a solid 3.5% increase in two months. Android Nougat including both Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 Nougat adoption rate has now jumped to 30.8% from 28.5% from February which is steady growth. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now at 26%, and it has declined from 28.1%. The Lollipop operating system adoption now stands at 22.9% down from 24.6%.

KitKat OS now stands at 10.5% down from 12%, and it also shows the adoption of the latest OS. Jellybean is currently at 4.5% down from 5%. Gingerbread and Ice cream sandwich are at 0.3% and 0.4% respectively with no change. The data was collected before 7-days ending on April 16th, 2018, said Google.
