AT&T recently announced Samsung Evergreen, the eco-friendly messaging phone. This handset is made from 70% post-consumer plastics and the packaging is made from 80% post-consumer paper. Samsung Evergreen is exclusively available on the airwaves of AT&T in the U.S.

The Evergreen is made of 70% post-consumer recycled plastics and as a whole is 83% recyclable4. It also features reduced and recyclable packaging, a CD to replace the user manual and an Energy Star qualified charger,” said Omar Khan, Chief Strategy Officer, Samsung Mobile.

Samsung will donate $1 to Cell Phones for Soldiers for every Samsung Evergreen sold, with a maximum donation of $100,000, to the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers. Samsung Evergreen comes with a price tag of $29.99 after $50 mail-in rebate with two years agreement and $20 a month messaging plan. This handset will be available from November 7 at AT&T company owned stores.
