Android Oreo adoption hits 5.7%, Nougat is now on 31.1% devices


Google is out with Android distribution numbers for the month of May and according to the number, Oreo adoption rate now at a decent 5.7% which also includes the Android 8.1 as well. Google announced Android P beta a few hours ago at the I/O 2018 event, which is available in beta for selected devices.

Oreo adoption  slowly, yet steadily is increasing which is a good sign for Google. it has seen a solid 1.1% increase in just one month. Android Nougat; both Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 Nougat is now on 31.1% devices; with a jump from 30.8% from April which is again a steady growth. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now at 25.5%, declining from 26%. The Lollipop operating system adoption now stands at 22.4% down from 22.9%.

KitKat OS now stands at 10.3% down from 10.5%. Jellybean is currently at 4.3% down from 4.5%. Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich are at 0.3% and 0.4%, respectively with no change. The data was collected 7-days prior ending on May 7, 2018, said Google.
