Google rolls out June 2018 Android security update – Improves Wi-Fi connectivity for Pixel phones, Bluetooth LE performance for all devices

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel and Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month also includes several functional improvements for these eligible Pixel and Nexus smartphones. This includes improved Bluetooth LE performance for all devices, and it says that it has improved antenna-switching behavior in areas of weak coverage and improved Wi-Fi connectivity with certain Wi-Fi access points for Pixel phones. Pixel 2 XL also gets Always On Display improvements and proximity sensor behavior improvements.

New builds for the Pixel and Nexus devices with June 2018 Android Security update:

  • Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL (OPM2.171026.006.C1 / OPM4.171019.021.E1)
  • Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C (OPM4.171019.021.D1)
  • Nexus 5X / 6P (OPM6.171019.030.B1)
