Nokia promised the face unlock feature on the recently launched Nokia 8 Sirocco, 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018) but the feature is nowhere to be seen yet even after months since the launch. However, Nokia Mobiles on Twitter has confirmed that the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the new Nokia 6.1, as well as the Nokia 8, will get face unlock as an OTA update in the coming months.

Though this might sound like yet another vague reply from the company, it still gives hope that the feature might end up coming somewhere in the future. The company didn’t mention any time frame for the same, just says that it will be coming in the near future.
On another note, HMD Global’s hit phone; the Nokia 7 Plus has gained ARCore support and it is now in the list of ARCore supported devices. Apart from Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, and Nokia 6.1 (2018) support ARCore since launch. The company’s Cheif Product Officer; Juho Sarvikas confirmed that the last year’s Nokia 8 will also get the ARCore support in the future as well.
Google’s AR app Measure which is handy in quickly estimating the size of things around you does seem to be working on the Nokia 7 Plus, and for this app to work, you will have to install ARCore app first. You can download the Measure app from Play Store here. For those who aren’t aware, ARCore is Google’s augmented reality platform.
