In China, Xiaomi recently introduced flame red variant of Redmi Note 5 (called Redmi note 5 Pro in India) but company has not yet launched red variant of any Redmi device in India. Last year, Xiaomi launched Red variant of Mi A1 in India but since then we have not seen any Xiaomi device in red color in Indian market. In India, company sells limited color variants of devices including Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Lake Blue.
The red color device in the picture looks like Redmi 5 which was launched in India in March 2018. Redmi 5 was a major upgrade to its predecessor Redmi 4 in terms of design and internals but packed a smaller battery as compared to Redmi 4. Despite being a major upgrade over Redmi 4, it doesn’t seem to do well in terms of sales if we go by customer ratings on Amazon.
It’s been more than 4 months since the device was introduced in India and less than 8000 users have rated it till date on Amazon.in, now it seems that company may introduce a new red variant to boost its sales, ahead of the Redmi 6 launch in coming months.
