MIUI Beta ROM gets updated biweekly, which includes closed beta on every Tuesday and public beta on every Friday but all devices running MIUI come with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed. Users could switch to MIUI Global Beta ROM using Updater method or Fastboot method but company always advised users to flash MIUI Global Beta ROM using Fastboot method after unlocking the bootloader of their device, but now users don’t need to unlock bootloader to switch to MIUI Global Beta ROM.
After release of recent MIUI Global Beta ROM update, Mi Community admin posted an announcement thread and as per the information provided in post Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y1, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro users can switch to MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM from MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM without unlocking bootloader.
Users of above mentioned devices can download latest Global Beta ROM from here and flash using Updater method. Users of other devices are supposed to stick to Fastboot method for now, as no information is provided for other devices.
Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 9.6 Stable update for various devices and we are expecting company to start rolling out MIUI 10 Stable ROM with in couple of months. If you’re impatience, you can try MIUI 10 Global Beta on your device now using the above mentioned methods.
