Apple recently scheduled ‘Gather Round’ special event on September 12th where the company is expected to introduce its new iPhones, iPad, MacBooks, Apple Watch, and much more. The company’s new iPhone line-up includes a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone XS Max, 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X successor – iPhone XS and a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model called iPhone Xr all with a notch, Face ID with the gesture-based control system and new A12 processor.
According to a new research note by Kuo, Apple is expected to replace the lightning cable with a USB-C on 2018 iPad Pro models, with an 18W power adapter right out of the box. However, the new iPhones will retain the lightning connector and will come with the typical 5W charger. The new iPhones will come with the upgraded processor, improved cameras, and more.
The 5.8-inch iPhone is likely to be called the iPhone Xs, the 6.5-inch iPhone will be called Xs Max, and the much-hyped low-cost 6.1-inch iPhone will be called either iPhone Xr. These new iPhones are expected to boost the sales, revenue, and profit.
As for the pricing, in China, the iPhone XS is said to be priced at 7388 yuan (USS$ 1,075 / Rs. 77,684 approx.), iPhone XS Max is said to cost 8388 yuan (USS$ 1,220 / Rs. 88,210 approx.) and the cheaper iPhone Xr is rumored to be priced at 5888 yuan (USS$ 855 / Rs. 61,895 approx.).
In the U.S. the new LCD iPhone is said to be priced between $699 and $749, the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max will start at $999, the iPhone XS likely to retail at a starting price of $899 for the 64GB variant. The 6.1-inch iPhone is most likely to be delayed until late September to early October due to quality issues with the assembly and display.
Moving on, Apple’s widely anticipated lower-priced MacBook may replace the current 12-inch MacBook. This new MacBook will bring support for
Touch ID fingerprint authentication but will not have Touch Bar.
As far as the Apple Watch Series 4, all models said to feature ceramic build and will have electrocardiography (ECG/EKG) functionality. The company is also expected to bring the long-awaited AirPower charging mat and new AirPods by the end of the year. With the event kick starting in a day, we don’t have to wait much longer to see what the company has in its kitty.
