Samsung files for ‘Samsung Buds’ trademark

Samsung has filed for ‘Samsung Buds’ trademark at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) recently. The trademark doesn’t reveal any details except for the name, but the company could be working on new style of earbuds with support for Bixby voice support, similar to the Google Pixel Buds with Google Assistant support.

Samsung introduced Gear IconX Bluetooth earbuds with fitness tracking capabilities back in 2016. Last year it refreshed it by introducing Gear IconX 2018 wireless earbuds with Bixby Voice that can be activated simply tapping and holding the earbud to use your voice to control your music or your phone.

The Samsung Buds could feature an better design and it might use the help of AKG. It could go official sometime earlier next year along with the Galaxy S10. We will have to wait to see if Samsung will ditch the 3.5mm audio jack on its next flagship ‘S series’ smartphone which is rumored to come in three variants, all with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
