Snap.Inc today announced that beginning this week, it will be testing new ways to search for products on Amazon right from the Snapchat camera. It also said that it will be rolling it out slowly and hence it is making this announcement ahead of the release.
Snapchat says that it is super easy to use this feature; simply point your Snapchat camera at a physical product or barcode, and press and hold on the camera screen to get started.
When the item or barcode is recognized, an Amazon card will appear on-screen, with a link for that particular product or similar ones available on Amazon. You can make your selection to visit the Amazon App or Amazon.com, where you can complete your purchase or keep browsing.
Snapchat says that it is the fastest way to shop. It is something similar to Google Lens and Bixby Camera, but with the ability to shop directly.
