Google introduced Android Pie Beta program for a range of smartphones including the Nokia 7 Plus back in May. It released Android P Developer Preview 5 (Beta 4) for the smartphone last week. At the Nokia 6.1 Plus launch last month the company said that the Nokia 7 Plus will get the stable Android Pie update in September, but we are nearing the end of the month.
#Android Pie 🥧for #Nokia 7 plus met with a couple of tricky platform specific certification bugs. We’ve got them now and are running final round of tests for quality assurance. Apologies for the delay. Like you know from Beta Labs, stability is there #nokiamobile

Today Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global announced that Android Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus is in final round of testing, and the delay was due to platform specific certification bugs. He did not say when the stable update will roll out, but we can expect it sometime in October.
After Google Pixel phones, Essential Phone last month and the OnePlus 6 earlier this week, the Nokia 7 Plus will be one of the first smartphones to get Android Pie stable update. Sony Xperia XZ2 will get the update in November. Other devices including Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, OPPO R15 Pro, Vivo X21 / X21UD are expected to get it soon.
