Weekly Roundup: Xiaomi Mi LED TVs, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Realme 2 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) and more

Xiaomi this week launched several products in India including Mi LED TVs in Pro series, Mi Air Purifier 2S, Mi Band 3, Mi Luggage, Mi Home security camera 360 and introduced Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone, Realme launched the most expected Realme 2 Pro smartphone and Realme C1, Samsung launched the Galaxy A7 (2018) and  Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+smartphones in India, and lots more in our weekly roundup.

Xiaomi at its Smarter Living event in India this week launched Mi TV 4C Pro, Mi TV 4A Pro and Mi TV 4 Pro smart LED TVs. All these offer PatchWall TV Experience and are Built on Android TV with Play Store to install games and apps and comes with Chromecast built-in to cast content from your phone to MiTV. These also come Bluetooth Mi Remote with Voice Search to find your favourite content across online apps.

Patchwall is getting JioCinema, Eros Now, Hooq and Epic as well as Amazon Prime Video soon. The new Patchwall will roll out gradually for all Mi TV models.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4C Pro (32) and Mi TV 4A Pro (49) are priced at Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 29,999, respectively and will be available from October 9th via Amazon.in and Mi.com. The Mi TV 4 Pro (55) is priced at Rs. 49,999 and will be available from October 10th October via Flipkart and Mi.com. Xiaomi said that this pricing is for limited period, so it might increase in the future.

Xiaomi also launched the most expected Mi Band 3 in India, as it had promised. It has a 0.78-inch OLED touch screen display, compared to 0.42-inch in the Mi Band 2 so that it can display more characters including WhatsApp, Facebook or SMS messages, 3-day Weather info, caller ID and more. It also 5ATM water proof so that you can take it for swimming under 50 meters.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 comes with Black wrist band and is priced at Rs. 1999. You can also buy bands in Orange and Blue colors. It is available from Amazon.in and Mi.com and will also be available from Mi Home stores soon.

Xiaomi also launched the Mi Air Purifier 2S, successor of Mi Air Purifier 2 in India. It has new OLED digital display, more precise air purification and smarter home integration with support for Alexa and Google Assistant. It is priced at Rs. 8,999 and is available from Flipkart, Amazon.in and Mi.com and will also be available from Mi Home Stores soon.

Xiaomi also has launched the Mi Home security camera 360. It features 360-degree viewing angle, 1080p HD video recording with infrared night vision to ensure no detail is lost even during challenging light condition, and the AI motion detection to detect and alert you of any unwanted movement in the house. It is priced at Rs 2,699 and it will go on sale from 10th October, Midnight, exclusively on Amazon.in, Flipkart and Mi.com and will be available soon from Mi Home stores.

It also launched Mi Luggage with scratch-resistant design in two sizes; 20 and 24.” These come with four adjustable handles and the wheels fit closely to the housing frame to enhance stability and reduce noise when dragging.

The Mi Luggage with scratch-resistant design comes in two sizes; 20 and 24 are priced at Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 4,299 respectively. Both these products will be available from 10th October at midnight on Mi.com, Flipkart, and Amazon.in. The company said that these will soon become available on Mi Home and offline stores.

It announced the Redmi Note 6 Pro, successor of the Redmi Note 5 Pro in Thailand. The major change is the 6.28-inch Full HD+ screen with a notch, 19:9 aspect ratio and dual front cameras, in addition to dual rear cameras. Both these have AI features including AI portrait and AI scene recognition. There is also AI face unlock. Other specifications are almost same as the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

It comes in Black, Blue and Rose Gold colors, is priced at 6,990 Thai Baht (US$ 216 / Rs. 15,660 approx.) for the 4GB + 64GB version and will be available at the ongoing Thailand Mobile Expo and Lazada.

Realme launched the Realme 2 Pro smartphone in India with a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dewdrop Full Screen display with a notch, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, is powered by Snapdragon 660 AIE with up to 8GB of RAM, runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, AI scene recognition, and a 16-megapixel front camera with AI Beauty feature.

It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, 15-layer laminated technology offering a glossy visual effect, dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots and packs a 3500mAh battery.

The Realme 2 Pro comes in Ice Lake, Black Sea and Blue Ocean colors, is priced at Rs. 13,990 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs Rs. 15,990 and the top-end 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 17,990. It will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting from October 11th.

It also launched the the C1, the company’s latest budget smartphone in India. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 87.8% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 2GB of RAM and runs ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for portrait shots and a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes in Black and Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 6999, which is an introductory price for Diwali and will be available from October 11th, exclusively on Flipkart.

Motorola launched One Power Android One smartphones in India as it had promised.  It was introduced at the IFA a 6.2-inch 19:9 aspect ratio Full HD+ display with a notch and 81% screen-to-body ratio, has dual rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with a Motorola logo. It runs Android 8.0 (Oreo). The phone packs a 5000mAh battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life and comes bundled with 15W charger that will offer up to 6 hours of power in 15 minutes of charging.

It comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 15,999 and will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting from October 5th.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A7 (SM-A750F), the company’s latest mid-range smartphone with triple rear cameras in India. It has a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, secondary 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide Lens for wide-angle photos and a third 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information for portrait shots.  It also has a 24-megapixel front camera with that automatically lets more light in by combining four pixels into one pixel in low light conditions.

It comes in Blue, Black and Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 23,990 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 28,990. It is available in India exclusively on Flipkart and Samsung Shop.

Samsung also launched the Galaxy J6+ and Galaxy J4+smartphones with Infinity displays after they were announced a few days back. Both the smartphones have 6-inch HD+ Infinity displays, Quad-Core SoC, which could be Snapdragon 425 as rumored earlier, but the company says that the SoC differs depending on the region. These run Android 8.1 (Oreo) and pack a 3300mAh battery. The J6+ will feature a fingerprint sensor on the right frame as well as dual rear cameras, which the J4+ lacks.

The Samsung Galaxy J6+ comes in Blue, Black and Red colors and is priced at Rs. 15,990, and the the Galaxy J4+ comes in Black, Gold and Blue colors and is priced at Rs. 10,990. These are available from Amazon India, Flipkart and Samsung Online shop online as well as offline stores.

HMD Global launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus, the company’s latest Android One smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor with 3GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P.

It features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portrait shots, 8-megapixel camera on the front for AI-powered selfie portraits and beauty mode. It has a glass back, fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a 3000mAh battery.

It comes in Black, White and Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 10,999 and is available for pre-order exclusively from Flipkart as well as Nokia Online store from today, till September 30th and ships from October 1st. Check out the first impressions of the phone here.

Vivo launched the V9 Pro smartphone in India, as it had promised. It was introduced as V9 6GB back in June in Indonesia. It has the same 6.3-inch FHD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, 90% screen-to-body ratio and 1.75mm slim bezels and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Funtouch OS 4.0 as the V9 , but this is powered by Snapdragon 660 AIE with 6GB of RAM. 

It  comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 17990 and will be available exclusively from Amazon.in.

It also launched the V11 smartphone in India, soon after the launch of V11 Pro. It has a 6.3-inch Full HD Halo FullView display, is powered by Helio P60 SoC with 6GB of RAM, feature a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel camera for portrait shots, AI scene recognition, and a 25-megapixel front camera with AI beautify feature.

It comes in Starry Night Black and Nebula Purple colors, is priced at Rs. 22990 and is available from online retailers such as Flipkart, Vivo estore as well as offline stores across the country.

Tecno launched three new smartphones – Camon iAir2+, Camon i2 and Camon i2x in India. These have a 6.2-inch HD+ 19:9 FullView displays with a notch, 88% screen-to-body ratio, are powered by MediaTek SoCs, run Android 8.1 (Oreo) with the company’s own HiOS on top, dual rear cameras with quad LED flash, front camera with AI face unlock that can scan 298 facial points, support for Dual 4G VoLTE and a 3750mAh battery. 

The Tecno Camon iAir2+, Camon i2 and the Camon i2x come in Champagne Gold, Midnight Black and Aquad Blue colors, are priced at Rs.8999, 10,499 and Rs. 12,499, respectively and are available from offline retailers.
