PayPal India launches ‘PayPal for Business’ app to cater to SME merchants and freelancers

Digital transformation is happening everywhere and it is real! Essentially, it helps the organisation to reinvent themselves through the use of digital technology, to develop and build up the business.

During this process, most of the merchants would probably have looked into a reliable online solution for taking payments for their product and services. In this regard, PayPal, one of the largest online payment processors in the world, has announced the launch of its first merchant-focused mobile app in India, dubbed PayPal for Business.

Available on both Android and iOS platforms, the PayPal for Business app will cater to SME merchants and freelancers alike, helping them handle their business in both domestic and cross-border markets through PayPal’s robust risk and security platform. In fact, the company has made the setup process so easy that it can get you up and running in no time.

With this app, PayPal intends to ease the backend business process for SME merchants and freelancers through technology, by providing a range of key features including automated sales insights, and scope to accept payments in multiple currencies from across the world.

Talking in-depth, the sales insights help merchants track and review business performance, number of transactions, average order value and more. The app also has professional invoicing capability that allows them to create, draft and send invoices on the go without any hassles, helping them receive payments in a timely manner.

In addition, this app allows merchants to view their account balances across a range of currencies, allowing a single integration for domestic and cross-border payments. Furthermore, the app enables merchants to issue refunds, ensuring a more satisfactory experience for their customers.

Another advantage of using the PayPal for Business app is the number of merchants already using PayPal. If in case a merchant encounters a problem while transacting, they can search for a solution online or get help from another merchant, who has dealt with that specific problem before.

Speaking on the app launch, Narsi Subramanian, Director – Growth, PayPal India, said:

Our focus is to enable payments in a convenient and safe manner and help merchants and freelancers grow their business. The PayPal for Business app solves some of the most common problems faced by SMEs and freelancers. It empowers them to run their business seamlessly and goes beyond just processing payments. India has the second-highest number of freelancers in the world, and the SME sector is growing rapidly as the spirit of entrepreneurship continues to soar. With the penetration of smartphones and internet connectivity, our merchants are increasingly adopting a mobile-first go-to-market strategy. PayPal for Business is aimed at catering to these merchants in making their lives easier and helping them conduct their business on the go.
