HMD Global rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the Nokia 7 Plus last week. Today the company at its Nokia 7.1 launch event in London announced when the Pie update will arrive for its older phones.
The Nokia 6.1 and the latest Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphones will get the update this October and the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco will get it next month. The company has not promised any timeline for other phones, but it said that it will be available
Nokia already promised that its smartphones will get Android updates for 2 years and security updates for 3 years from the launch date since its phones are Android.
Android 9 update will include AI powered features. The Adaptive Battery feature limits battery usage from apps you don’t use often, and App Actions predicts what you’re about to do so you can get to your next action quickly.
