OnePlus 6T has a smarter camera with Google Lens powered by AI

OnePlus unveiled  its most expected OnePlus 6T smartphone couple of weeks back. In addition to several new camera features such as Nightscape for the best night shots and Studio lighting that uses face detection for the best portraits, the OnePlus 6T also comes with Google Lens built right into the camera app. Google Lens can not only detect an object, but it can also understand what it detects and offer actions based on what it sees. Google Lens can be accessed from ‘More’ option in the camera app.

Google Lens will tell you what’s in the image, giving you information about things like books, buildings, and works of art etc. You can also copy and paste text from an object for translation, add events to your calendar, find products online while shopping to view relevant reviews and similar options, reviews of movie DVDs, identify popular plants along with other helpful information like florists in your area, learn about landmarks when you travel, and more. All this is powered by AI and computer vision, fetching all the details in seconds.

With the latest real-time detection feature, you can just open the Google Lens built into the camera on the OnePlus 6T, and it shows the details when you point at an object. If there are more than one objects, you get a button on the item which on tapping will present more information about it.

Reiterating the specifications once again, the OnePlus 6T packs a powerful specification that includes 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with an 86% screen-to-body ratio, powered by Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with up to 8GB of RAM, dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel rear camera and 20-megapixel secondary camera. The front side is taken care of a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 371 sensor on board.

It runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with OxygenOS 9.0 with support for Android’s full-screen gestures and support for Smart Boost technology that improves app start speeds to 5 to 20% by storing data from frequently used apps in the phone’s RAM. It has a glass back and comes in Mirror Black version that has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. On top of that, the OnePlus 6T has a 3,700 mAh battery with OnePlus’ Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging.

The OnePlus 6T is available in Midnight Black and Mirror Black in three variants — 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB at INR 37,999, INR 41,999 and INR 45,999, respectively on Amazon.in, oneplus.in, Croma stores and all OnePlus exclusive offline stores.
