I’m sure most of us have given up hope on Mobile Number Portability. It has been delayed several times and we hate to report news of something which is not good news and we stopped talking about MNP. Now there might be some light at the end of the tunnel as there is some news that MNP will be rolled out this Thursday in Rohtak district of Haryana.
Looks like the DoT is wanting to give MNP a test run in a circle with a small population. DoT has announced that MNP will be rolled out to other circles also but no time frame has been specified. Subscribers have to send an SMS to 1900 to get a porting code which will enable them to move their number to another Operator. It will take 4 days for the migration to get completed. Sounds awesome right ?
