Sony Master Series Z9G 8K LCD and A9G 4K OLED TVs, HT-X8500 Dolby Atmos Soundbar, X800M2 4K Blu-ray player announced

Sony Electronics has announced the new MASTER Series Z9G 8K LCD and A9G 4K OLED televisions. Both new models feature the latest generation Picture Processor X1 Ultimate for accurate detail and contrast. The company also introduced the HT-X8500 Soundbar which comes with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X and built-in subwoofers and the new HT-S350 Soundbar. 

The Picture Processor X1 Ultimate algorithm is specially developed for 8K that can intelligently detect and analyze each object in the picture, resulting in exceptional detail and contrast for a more realistic picture that represents. Both the A9G and Z9G models have the new Sound-from-Picture Reality feature. The A9G is Sony’s new flagship 4K OLED TV available in 77″, 65″ and 55″ classes. The TVs come with Pixel Contrast Booster for more color and contrast in bright areas.

Additionally, the TV Center Speaker Mode provides choice to use the TV as the center speaker. The A9G HDR TVs features Netflix Calibrated mode which is IMAX enhanced and Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos. As for the Z9G Super-large Sized TVs, they come in 98-inch and 85-inch class. In order to deliver premium picture quality in such extra-large screens, Sony is introducing an extra resolution with its first consumer 8K television.

It comes with twice the number of horizontal lines and vertical lines, meaning, the 8K quality provides four times the pixels of 4K. They also come with 8K X-Reality PRO where pictures are sharpened and refined in real time, and images are upscaled closer to true 8K quality using Sony’s exclusive 8K database.

They come with acoustic Multi-Audio by four front-facing speakers; with Sony’s Sound-from-Picture Reality experience, action and sound are precisely aligned for a more immersive viewing experience. Since it is an Android TV, it has support for Google Assistant.  The company has also announced the X950G Series 85-inch, 75″, 65″ and 55″ classes TV and A8G Series 65-inch and 55-inch Class TVs.

The HT-X8500 is one of the first Dolby Atmos soundbars with dual built-in subwoofers. It delivers a three-dimensional cinematic sound experience. The HT-X8500 sports a 2.1ch and is compatible with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X. The X8500 can deliver up to 7.1.2ch surround sound. The X8500 has one-cable HDMI eARC support.

Moving to HT-S350 soundbar, it packs Sony’s enhanced S-Force PRO Front Surround technology, together with 5.1ch decoding support, it delivers a wider, more enveloping and accurate soundstage. Lastly, the BP-X800M2 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player supports 4K Ultra HD playback, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Hybrid Log Gamma to deliver stunning picture quality. The X800M2 also supports Hi-Res Audio and DSD. The X800M2 is compatible with all major disc formats, including SACD/DVD-A, as well as 4K streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube. The company didn’t reveal the pricing or availability but said that it will be announced in spring 2019.
