Honor Play 8A with 6-inch waterdrop notch display, Android 9.0 (Pie) announced

Huawei’s Honor brand has introduced Honor Play 8A, the company’s latest budget smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6-inch HD+ waterdrop notch display, and the company claims that it has 87% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio P35 12nm SoC, runs Android 9.0 (Oreo), and has a 13-megapixel rear camrea with f/1.8 aperture, and an 8-megapixel front camera.

It doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, but comes with face unlock that can scan 1024 facial points. It comes with dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots and packs a 3000mAh battery.

The Honor Play 8A comes in Blue, Red, Gold and Black colors, is priced at 799 yuan (US$ 116 / Rs. 8,155 approx.) for the 32GB storage version and the 64GB storage version costs 999 yuan (US$ 145 / Rs. 10,195 approx.). It will go on sale in China starting from tomorrow, January 9th.
