At CES 2019, Dell has introduced its flagship gaming laptop; the Alienware Area-51m. The company has also introduced the m17, m15, and m17 that come with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPUs. Dell also added new redesigned G5 and G7 gaming laptops to its portfolio.
The Area-51m is the most powerful upgrade as it comes with 9th Gen 8-core desktop processors coupled with GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB GDDR6 RAM, GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB of GDDR6 RAM or a GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB of GDDR6 RAM. It packs 64GB of memory, 2.5Gbps Ethernet technology, upgradeable graphics. It sports a 17-inch display with narrow-bezels, 144Hz. The Area-51m also comes with cutting-edge thermal and cooling technology. The Area-51m uses socketed Intel Z390 motherboard since it is upgradeable.
Connectivity ports include three USB 3.1 ports (Type-A), a Thunderbolt 3 port (Type-C), HDMI 2.0, Mini-DisplayPort 1.4, headphone and microphone sockets, Gigabit Ethernet, and an Alienware Graphics Amplifier port. The laptop packs 90WHr battery. Adding to the newly announced Alienware m17, the company has also added the Alienware m15. It is powered by the 8th-gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPUs.
Dell has also unveiled refreshed versions of the G5 and G7 gaming laptops which are now powered by upto Intel’s 8th gen hexa-core processors and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 graphics. The new Dell G7 sports a 15-inch and 17-inch (Dell G7 17 7790) variants with full-HD (1920x 1080 pixels) 60Hz panel or 144Hz refresh rate and a UHD (3840×2160 pixels) OLED panel with 60Hz refresh rate.
It has option between Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, GeForce RTX 2060, GeForce RTX 2070, and the GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card with Max-Q design. It packs 8/ 16GB of RAM paired with up to 1TB of hybrid HDD, 1TB of NVMe SSD or multiple dual storage options. In terms of battery, it offer a choice between 4-cell 60Whr battery and a 6-cell 90WHr battery.
As for the Dell G5, it comes in a single 15-inch variant with a Full HD resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. There is another variant with 144Hz refresh rate and a UHD (3840×2160 pixels) display with 60Hz refresh rate. The base model is powered by a quad-core 8th gen Intel Core i5-8300HQ processor while the high-end model pack hexa-core Intel Core i7-8750HQ CPU. It comes with choice between four GPU options; the GTX 1050Ti, GeForce RTX 2060, GeForce RTX 2070, and GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q design.
It packs upto 32GB RAM and choice of storage between 1TB HDD, 1TB NVMe SSD or a hybrid storage option with a maximum of 2TB HDD coupled with 1TB of NVMe SSD storage. The Dell G5 gaming laptop’s battery is similar to G7 series.
The company has also announced upgrades to Dell XPS 13, Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 with the Latest Intel Core Chips. The company has also announced updates to the Dell Cinema service including CinemaColor 2.0, CinemaSound 2.0, and CinemaStream 2.0 and advancements to the Mobile Connect service alongside. Dell Cinema with enhanced features will be available on the new XPS 13 and select Inspiron laptops
- The Dell G7 15 starts at $1,099 (₹ 77,100) while the G7 17 is priced at $1,380 (₹ 96,900) for the base variant. It will be available starting January 29th
- The Dell G5 15 gaming laptop base model costs $999.99 (₹ 70,100). It will be available starting January 29th
- Alienware Area-51m with Legend design available Jan. 29th, 2019, starting at $2,549 (₹ 1,79,768 approx.)
- Alienware m15 is available now, starting at $1,379.99 (Rs. 97,323 approx.)
- Alienware m15 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPU available Jan. 29th, 2019. It starts at $1,579.99 (₹ 1,11,428 approx.)
- Alienware m17 will be available Jan. 29th, it starts $1,649.99 (₹ 1,16,365 approx.)
- The new Dell XPS 13 will be available from February, starts at $899.99 (₹ 63,467 approx.) on Dell.com, Microsoft.com and in limited quantities in select Microsoft Store locations
- Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 will be available later this year.
