Xiaomi has finally announced that the company’s flagship Mi 9 smartphone, successor of last year’s Mi 8 will be announced on February 20th at an event in China. It also confirmed that is is codenamed “Battle Angel”. The phone was spotted in the wild last week, and the official teaser confirms the design with triple rear cameras and a flash arranged vertically.
TFBOYS Roy, also known as Wang Yuan it the brand ambassador of the Mi 9 with limited edition phone case. Lu Weibing after a meeting at Xiaomi’s R&D facility in Shenzhen confirmed that its flagship smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 855, so the Mi 9 will likely come with the SoC, but it is not clear if it will come with 5G support.
Live images of the phone have surfaced. It is expected to feature a 6.4-inch Full HD+ waterdrop notch screen, 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary rear camera sensor and a 3500mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging. It is rumored to start at 2999 yuan (US$ 443 / Rs. 31,335 approx.). We should know more details soon.
