LG V50 ThinQ 5G Hands On and Photo Gallery

After a lot of rumours and speculations, LG finally introduced its flagship device dubbed as LG V50 ThinQ with 5G support at the MWC. Talking about the design, it looks more or less like its predecessor V40 with triple camera setup.

Moreover, the LG has partnered with 10 major carriers in the United States, South Korea, Australia as well as a number of European countries where 5G service will be launched this year.

On the front, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G has a 6.4-inch (3120 x 1440 pixels) 19.5:9 FullVision OLED Display with a notch on top and thin chin at the bottom.

In addition to it, the company has also introduced a new Dual Screen accessory for the phone to add a second 6.2-inch OLED (2160 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ display for better gaming and multitasking experience. It connects via Pogo Pin so it uses the phone’s power to run. In select games, the Dual Screen can be used as a dedicated controller. It can be tilted to 104 and 180 degrees.

On the right side, the V50 has a power button and SIM slot, and the left side houses a volume rocker button and dedicated Google Assistant button just like LG V40. The LG V50 measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs around 183 g, which is a bit heavier than LG V40 (169 grams).

Turning it back, we have triple rear cameras with 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. It has an 8-megapixel front camera and replaces the 3D ToF sensor on the G8 with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens.

Talking about the processor, the LG V50 is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 640 GPU along with Snapdragon X50 5G Modem under the hood. It has 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, which is expandable up to 2TB with microSD.

Out of the box, the LG V50 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has a fingerprint scanner on the rear just like any other LG V series device. Furthermore, it has 3.5mm audio jack, 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC, DTS: X 3D Surround Sound, Boombox Speaker with stereo output.

This time LG has gives a massive bump to V50 in terms of battery — 4000mAh. It also comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The LG V50 ThinQ comes in Astro Black color and will roll out later this year.
