At the MWC 2019 event, Xiaomi has introduced the Mi 9 flagship in the Mi-series and is also the 8th-iteration flagship for Xiaomi. It has 90.7% screen to body ratio and has 3.6mm small chin, making it 40% narrower than the Mi 8. Here we bring you the Hands-On and Photo Gallery.
It has a 6.39-inch (1080 × 2280 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 103.8% NTSC color gamut, 600 nits brightness, and also packs Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It packs a 3300mAh battery with 27W fast charging, 20W wireless fast charging. The Mi 9 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 640 GPU and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 on top.
On the storage front, the phone comes with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage / 12GB RAM with 256GB storage (Transparent Edition). The phone packs an in-display Fingerprint sensor. As for the camera, the Mi 9 features triple rear-camera which consists of a 48MP rear camera with 1/2.0″ Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, LED flash, Laser Autofocus, PDAF, CAF, 12MP 1/3.6″ Samsung S5K3M5, telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, 2x lossless zoom, 16MP 1/1.3″ Sony IMX481 117-degree ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, 4cm macro. A 20MP front-facing camera.
On the right, you have the power and volume rocker buttons which are tactile and offer good feedback. The Google Assistant button and SIM tray are present on the left. On the back, you have Mi branding, triple rear cameras, LED flash. The USB Type-C port and speaker grills are present on the bottom. On the top, you have the IR blaster.
The device measures 7.61mm in thickness. It also supports various connectivity options.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is already on sale in China. It will roll out in Europe starting today at 449 Euros (US$ 509 / Rs. 36,170 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 499 Euros (US$ 565 / Rs. 40,200 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version.
