A few days back, Xiaomi literally shocked the Indian smartphone market, if not the entire world with its pricing for Redmi Note 7 Pro. While some portray this move as desperation to capture the market, we disagree to it wholeheartedly, considering their sales history.
Smartphone market have come a longway!
Having said that Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone, the company’s latest mid-range at a starting price of Rs. 13,999. Following the sequence of launch in the recent past, one couldn’t help but realise the fact that the smartphone market has matured a lot.
VFM device!
In fact, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is one of the best Value For Money (VFM) to date from Xiaomi’s Redmi portfolio. On the design, Redmi Note 7 Pro is a huge leap from its predecessor and has an Aura design with a glass back with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and a gradient design.
Undoubtedly, the build is premium, looks appealing when compared to other smartphones in the same category like Samsung Galaxy M20 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2.
Splash resistant
Unlike other Redmi smartphones, it is splash resistant and most of all it retains the 3.5mm audio jack and the IR Blaster. The device also measures 8.1mm in thickness and weighs around 186 grams. This flashy looking smartphone, comes with a P2i hydrophobic nano-coating, which is claimed to protect the smartphones against accidental liquid spills and light rain.
First Redmi to get USB Type-C
Talking about the placement, the right side of the mobile have volume and power buttons, with satisfactory tactile feedback. The left side houses a hybrid dual-SIM + microSD card slot. Fortunately, this device retains 3.5mm headphone jack and IR emitters on top, and USB Type-C ports on the bottom along with speaker grilles on both sides. It comes with Dual 4G VoLTE support similar to the predecessor.
Another big change in the smartphone is its display, sporting 6.3-inch Full HD+ Dot Notch display with 1.95mm narrow bezels, 81.37% screen-to-body ratio. In addition to it, necessary buttons are well within the reach.
Faster than Snapdragon 710!
Under the hood, the recent outing from Xiaomi is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and has up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 256GB with a microSD card. On the software side, the device is shipped with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box.
Whopping 48MP camera!
The main highlight of the smartphone is its 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2″ Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture. It offers 12MP output by default using super pixel tech, but you can enable 48MP output in Pro mode. It has a 5-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and also comes with AI features such as steady handheld night photography.
There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front with AI beautify and AI portrait features, as well as AI, face unlock.
Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0
The Redmi Note 7 Pro gets a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4. Having said that the company offers just a 10W charger in the box. You need to get an 18W charger separately to make the most out of Quick Charging, and it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0.
Game changing price
The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in Neptune Blue, Nebula Red and Space Black, is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 16,999. It will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting from March 13. It also comes bundled with a protective case, and the company will also sell perforated case separately at Rs. 349.
