HTC was the first company to confirm Android Pie update for its smartphones – HTC U12+, U11+, U11, and U11 life. The company rolled out Android Pie update for its U11 life Android One smartphone back in November last year. 7 month after confirmation of Android Pie update for its flagship HTC U12+, U11+, U11 smartphones, HTC today confirmed that it will roll out the update for the phones starting from Q2 2019, which is between April and June.
We wanted to share the status on the Android 9 update. HTC is currently working on ensuring the update is compatible with our phones & we anticipate a release for U11, U11+ & U12+ customers starting Q2’19. Exact timing defers to operators’ availabilities in different countries.

This news comes when Google is all set to release first Android Q Developer Preview later this week bringing System-wide dark theme, revamped gestures, native support for facial recognition, screen-recording, WPA3, imroved privacy and permission controls and lots more.
It is not just HTC, Samsung, LG and other OEMs are still working on roll out Android Pie update for their smartphones.
