Xiaomi launched its first dual-camera phone Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last year running MIUI 9.2 on top of Android 7.1 (Nougat) and later updated it to MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) back in June 2018. MIUI 9.5 also brought some new features such as gesture support, Dual 4G VoLTE and more to Redmi Note 5 Pro. Later in September 2018, the company rolled out MIUI 10 update for the smartphone and last month it started recruiting Beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices including Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 6 Pro, and Redmi Y2.
Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.25 update for Redmi Note 5 Pro, which brings Android 9.0 (Pie) along with April security patch to the device. The update finally brings a toggle under display settings for the system-wide dark mode to the device that we earlier reported, but now dark mode is not just limited to some apps and settings, with this update Settings page also gets an overhaul.
The update also brings Game Turbo to the smartphone. Note that this is a MIUI Global Nightly Beta update and is currently available for closed beta testers only, to learn more about different MIUI versions refer to this post. Android Pie-based MIUI Global Beta ROM for all users is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI Global Beta update to Redmi Note 6 Pro and Redmi 6 Pro, Android 9.0 (Pie) update also brought Dual VoLTE feature to Redmi 6 Pro. Redmi Y2 is expected to get Android Pie based MIUI Global Beta update which may also bring Dual VoLTE to the smartphone.
