According to the recent report surfaced online, Apple is expected to launch a couple of AirPods variants around the early fourth quarter of 2019. Allegedly, one of these variants will be an iterative upgrade to the current AirPod, whereas the other will be overhauled with new designs.
As per the report by Ming-Chi Kuo, the iterative upgrade model will retail at the same price point as today’s second-gen AirPods which bundles the wireless charging case. However, there is no information about the specifications or feature of the upcoming AirPods. If the rumours turn out to be true, the yet-to-be-launched AirPod will feature noise cancelling and water resistance improvements
The analyst expects AirPods shipments to top 52 million in 2019 and head upwards of 75 million in 2020.
On the other hand, Apple introduced Powerbeats Pro, new wireless earphones with up to 9 hours of listening time, sweat & water resistance, and adjustable, secure-fit earhooks. The Powerbeats Pro comes in Ivory, Black, Moss and Navy colours, is priced at $249.95 (Rs. 17,260 approx.) and will go on sale soon in the US and more than 20 additional countries.
