Mobile Subscriber base crosses 700mn in India

TRAI the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released the subscriber figures at the end of October 2010. One of the interesting facts is that the Wireless Subscriber base has reached 706.69 Million. Bharti Airtel added the most subscribers in the period followed by Vodafone and Uninor.

The Tele-Density (for both wired and wireless) stood at 62.5%. At the first thought , one might think that nearly 60% of the population has a mobile phone but that not practically true. Most of us carry 2 or 3 phones and we are not sure how many of those subscribers are active subscribers !
