The OnePlus 7 Pro for the first time brings a Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels)  19.5:9 aspect ratio screen that looks gorgeous. It also has 90Hz refresh rate that offers a smooth experience compared to 60Hz in most phones, which is a treat for gamers. The company calls it fluid AMOLED display. It has HDR10 support, Night Mode 2.0 to adjust brightness down to 0.27 nits for better eye protection in complete darkness. There is Horizon light that lights up that edges of the display when you receive notification.

It has a second-gen in-display fingerprint sensor that is faster. The earpiece grill on the top doubles up as a speaker. It runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with OxygenOS 9.5 with new features such as screen recorder, Zen Mode that will run for 20 minutes so you can receive only emergency calls and the company has promised India-only features such as smart SMS are coming soon. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 with liquid cooling, 12GB LPDDR4 RAM with RAM Boost feature and new Fanatic mode that blocks all notification & calls, restrict background to boost the game and stop secondary SIM to enhance the network.

As you can see, there is no notch. Here comes the 16-megapixel pop-up front camera, which has been upgraded from the OnePlus 6T. This features a Sony IMX471 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 1.0μm pixel size. OnePlus says that the elevating mechanism has been tested over 300,000 times. The camera immediately slides down when the phone accidentally falls when you are taking selfies.

One the back there are cameras, 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with 7-element plastic lens with an aperture of f/1.6, OIS and EIS support, a 78 mm 8-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture, 1μm pixel size and OIS offering 3x loss-less zoom and a 16-megapixel 117° Ultra Wide Angle Lens with an aperture of f/2.2 aperture. The telephoto lens makes a come back after the OnePlus 5 in 2017 that offered 2x zoom, and the ultra-wide lens is completely new for a OnePlus phone.

OnePlus has retained the alert slider that is present on the right side. You can see the antenna bands since the phone has a metal frame. Since the pop-up camera is present on the top, only the secondary microphone is present on the top. On the bottom there is a dual SIM slot, USB Type-C port, primary microphone and a speaker grill, so it offers stereo audio, and also comes with Dolby Atmos. It is also the first phone to support UFS 3.0 storage that offers 2x faster performance compared to UFS 2.1.

It has a Glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. We have the Nebula Blue color that features multiple layers of glass, absorbing light before a layer of anti-glare material reflects back its natural lustre with depth and vibrance. It also comes in Mirror Gray with unique coating that gives it a shimmering effect and Almond color with thin layer of film underneath the glass for attractive golden shimmer and offers a smooth finish.

It still has daily water-resistance so that the phone can withstand splashes and accidental spills, but it doesn’t have IP ratings. Battery is up from 3700mAh to 4000mAh, and similar to the McLaren Edition, this has Warp Charge 30 Fast Charging (5V/6A).

It starts at Rs. 48,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and will go on sale starting May 17th through Amazon.in,oneplus.in, all OnePlus exclusive offline stores, all Reliance Digital outlets, MyJio stores and Croma outlets.
