Samsung Galaxy A Series smartphone sales cross 5 million in 70 days in India


Last month Samsung announced that it sold 2 million Galaxy A series smartphone in 40 days, today the company has announced that it has sold 5 million units in 70 days. This includes Galaxy A10, A20, A30, A50, A70 and the Galaxy A2 Core since March 1st. The company added that it generated over US$ 1 billion in revenue for the company, and aims to sell US$ 4 billion worth of Galaxy A smartphones this year.

Samsung said that the Galaxy S10+ flagship is also doing very well in India, helping the company consolidate its number 1 ranking in the premium segment.

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy A80 smartphone with a rotating camera in India in the coming weeks, and is also rumored to launch the Galaxy M40 smartphone in June.

Commenting on the new achievement and S10 sales, Ranjivjit Singh, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung India, said:

Our premium lineup (S10, S10+ and S10e) has also done extremely well and we had a 77 per cent value market share in the premium smartphone category (Rs 30,000 and above) in India
