American audio manufacturer Bose launched the QuietComfort 35 II (QC 35 II) headphones with Google Assistant in September 2017. It was known for its excellent active noise cancellation feature. After a year, now, the company has announced its new Bose 700 noise-canceling headphones with a refreshed design, adjusting mechanism on the outer side, Type-C charging port and more.
The new Bose 700 is not similar to the QC 35 II and features a completely refreshed design and more modern than the QC 35s. It now has a USB Type-C port for charging, Bluetooth connectivity with a range of up to 10m and Bose claims 20 hours of ‘full-featured’ playback. The headphones have dimensions of 8″ x 6.5″ W x 2″ D and weigh 113g. It promises 20 hours of battery life and comes with quick charging that offers 3.5 hours of listening with 15 minutes of charging.
Bose has also upgraded the microphone system and now uses 4 microphone system for active noise cancellation and voice isolation on this new 700 headphones. Additionally, users can also personalize their environment with 11 levels of noise cancellation.
Bose is highlighting voice assistants a major feature of the NCH 700 headphones and claims that with the help of Google Assistant and Alexa, users will be able to remain seamlessly connected to their phone without looking at it or even touching it.
Apart from this, Bose is also introducing its Bose AR platform with the 700 headphones. According to the company, it is a first-of-its-kind audio augmented reality platform. The way it works is, Bose AR-enabled products have motion sensors embedded inside that can detect your head orientation and body movement while you wear them and the AR-enhanced apps can then use this information along with location data from your mobile device to offer you tailored audio content.
Alongside the noise-cancelling headphones, Bose also announced two new truly wireless earphones — the Bose Earbuds 500 and Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700.

Commenting on the launch, Brian Maguire, category director, Bose headphones said:
At its best, technology should make us more human, not more dependent on devices. No one’s bucket list includes more time on a touchscreen, but right now, millions of people are looking down, swiping and typing on a 3×5 display. Pairing our phones and headphones have given us more freedom for calls and let us use our personal assistants to get things done.
But there are still barriers, and we’ve all experienced them. Our VPA doesn’t understand what we said and dials the wrong number. Or botches our text, so we send it ourselves. Or we’re forced to manually open an app, or hang-up because we’re shouting over a crowd.
Noise cancelling headphones have always helped us hear better — but we need to be heard better, too. And no mobile device has solved that problem. No phone, no headphone, and no combination of the two. But the Bose Noise Cancelling 700 changes that. And we can’t wait for people to experience the difference it makes.
