What has changed from the OnePlus 6T?
New Improved Cameras
The OnePlus 7 features improved 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, dual LED flash along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture for portrait shots. Since it features a larger sensor, there is a camera bump. It also has a new 16-megapixel camera on the front with Sony IMX471 sensor and f/2.0 aperture.
Faster Snapdragon 855 SoC and UFS 3.0 storage
The OnePlus 7 has a faster Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform compared to Snapdragon 845 and has UFS 3.0 storage compared to UFS 2.1. Running Android 9.0 (Pie) with OxygenOS 9.0, this comes with ZenMode and Screen Recorder, same as the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Better In-display fingerprint sensor
The in-display fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 7 is larger and features an additional lens compared to the one on the 6T which makes for faster and more consistent reads.
Stereo Speakers
Unlike the single bottom-ported speaker on the Oneplus 6T, this comes with a stereo speaker since the earpiece doubles up as the speaker. It also has Dolby Atmos support.
Red Color
Compared to Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Thunder Purple color variants on the OnePlus 6T, the OnePlus 7 comes in Black and new Red Color variant, which is exclusive to China and India. OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 6 Red color variant last year.
The back has 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection and offers a gradient finish that looks and feels premium. It measures 157.7×74.8×8.2 mm and weighs 182 grams, almost same as the OnePlus 6T, even though it is 0.2mm taller and 3 grams lighter than the predecessor.
What’s same as the OnePlus 6T?
Display
The OnePlus 7 retains the same 6.41-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED display with a notch as the OnePlus 6T. The display is vibrant with good color reproduction. It also has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
Design
The OnePlus 7 retains the same design as the OnePlus 6T. It has an alert slider on the right and doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack. It still has daily water-resistance so that the phone can withstand splashes and accidental spills, but it doesn’t have IP ratings.
3700mAh battery with Fast Charging (5V 4A)
Since the display size is same, the phone retains the 3700mAh battery as the OnePlus 6T.
It also has the same 20W (5V-4A) fast charger in the box.
Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 7 is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs Rs. 37,999. It will go on sale from Amazon India, oneplus.in, and in all OnePlus exclusive offline stores starting June 4th. Additionally, pre-booking for the OnePlus 7 begins on 7th June 2019 in all partner retail outlets with sales commencing on these platforms on 14th June 2019.
