Samsung and Xiaomi’s Redmi are said to be working on a new smartphone with 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Today Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the company will be introducing world’s first smartphone camera with 64MP GW1 largest 1/1.72″ sensor and 1.6µm pixel. In addition, he also said that the phone will be launched in India first.
He also shared an image taking from the phone, which looks brilliant. Watermark on the image says 64MP AI Quad Camera, so this should be quad camera phone, a first for realme, after Realme 3 Pro with triple rear cameras.
Another teaser compares the image from the 64MP Realme phone prototype, with a 48MP camera phone from another brand, which should be the Redmi K20 or the K20 Pro with triple rear cameras. There is also a couple of zoomed images that shows more details in Realme compared to the other phone.
The 64MP sensor uses Pixel-merging Tetracell technology and the remosaic algorithm offers 16MP images in low-light environments where four pixels are merged to work as one to increase light sensitivity and highly-detailed 64Mp shots in brighter settings. It also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) that provides richer hues.
We should know more details about Realme’s 64MP camera phone soon.
