Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI global stable update starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 smartphones in India last yera running MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) update, and the stable MIUI 10 OTA update for the phones rolled out soon after the launch. In February, the company started recruiting beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices but didn’t announce update plans for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, later, the company announced that both the smartphones will receive Android Pie based MIUI Global Stable ROM.

As per posts on Mi Community, Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI Global Stable ROM to Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A users in India. The new update for Redmi 6A comes as MIUI 10.4.1.0.PCBMIXM and MIUI 10.4.1.0.PCGMIXM for Redmi 6, both the updates weigh around 1.3 GB in size, these updates bring Android 9.0 (Pie) along with July security patch to both the devices. Similar to Redmi Y2 Android Pie update, these updates bring system-wide dark mode,  face unlock for app lock, new charging animation and lock screen clock customization to the smartphone.

Xiaomi has already rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 6 ProRedmi Note 5 ProRedmi 6 Pro, and Redmi Y2. With these updates, Xiaomi has completed Android Pie roll out for all their devices. Check out the changelogs below,
