Apple launched the Watch Series 4 with an edge-to-edge curved display, fall detection and more last year. There has been leaks and rumours on the upcoming Apple Watch Series 5 and a new report suggests that Apple Watch Series 5 could come in Ceramic and Titanium variants alongside the regular variant.
Apple watchOS 6 beta assets suggest that Apple plans to launch Ceramic and Titanium variants of Watch Series 5. It reveals Apple Watch initial setup process and says “44MM TITANIUM CASE DESIGNED BY APPLE IN CALIFORNIA” and “44MM CERAMIC CASE DESIGNED BY APPLE IN CALIFORNIA”. This suggests that Apple might indeed launch new variants as the company hadn’t launched a Ceramic variant of Apple Watch earlier.
It is still not clear if the titanium/ceramic casing will replace the stainless steel or will be launched as an additional option. Apple is expected to launch Watch Series 5 alongside new iPhone models next month, and we should know more information in the coming days.
In related news, a report revealed that Apple Watch Series 5 will sport OLED display and Japan Display Inc.(JDI) is said to supply OLED screen and touch module for the Watch Series 5.
