Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today introduced the Redmi Note 8 series smartphones. In an interview Redmi General Manager and VP, Lu Weibing has confirmed that the company will launch the Redmi Note 8 smartphone in India in 2 to 3 months. He also confirmed that the company has already started working on BIS certification in the country. To remind you, the Redmi Note 7 that was introduced back in January in China was launched in India in February, a month after the launch and the Redmi Note 7 Pro was launched in India first.

Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain also confirmed that certification and testing might take approximately eight weeks, so we can expect the phone only in October or November in India.
To remind you the Redmi Note 8 Pro uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and rear, packs a 6.53-inch FHD+ dot drop display, has a 4500mAh battery, the largest ever in the Redmi Note series with 18W Type-C fast charging, uses IP52 splash-proof technology which offers effective protection against rain and sweat, has NFC, IR blaster and 3.5mm headphone jack.
It is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G90T processor with ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU, providing AI power up to 1TMACs and has LiquidCool system. It uses Samsung 64MP GW1 sensor, equipped with ISOCELL Plus technology, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120° field of view, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro will go on sale in China from September 3rd starting at 1399 yuan (US$ 195 / Rs. 14,035 approx.).
