Sony announced the Xperia 1 smartphone earlier this year at MWC 2019. It comes with a 6.5-inch 4K OLED 21:9 display, triple rear cameras and more. Now, the successor of Xperia 1 is in the leaks and a report reveals some of the specifications of the unannounced Xperia smartphone including press images.
The successor of Sony Xperia 1 won’t be called the Xperia 2, according to the reports and this unannounced Xperia smartphone is said to sport 6.1-inch 21:9 display, but is it not clear if it will sport a display with 4K resolution similar to the Xperia 1 or sport a display with FULL HD+ resolution. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.
Furthermore, the leaked press images reveal a triple camera setup(primary+ultra-wide+telephoto unit most likely) on this Xperia smartphone and also shows off the three colours Black, Navy and Crimson Red. The leaked images show a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dedicated button to trigger the camera shutter, power ON/OFF button and volume rocker buttons to the left. It also shows a USB Type-C port, primary microphone, speaker grill along with the antenna lines.
Sony is expected to unveil this smartphone at IFA Berlin 2019, and we should know more information in the coming days. The Sony IFA 2019 event is scheduled for 1PM CEST (4:30PM IST) on 5 September.
