OnePlus TV will reflect the company’s burden-less design philosophy

As we are approaching the launch, more details around OnePlus TV have started surfacing. The company is trying to repeat the same magic with its smart TV, which is expected around late September. While the rumors and leaks continue to surface, Pete Lau, founder, and CEO of OnePlus, on the other hand, is posting a series of images dropping hints about the upcoming OnePlus TV.

According to the company, the TV will feature smart capabilities coupled with the company’s ‘burden-less’ design philosophy to offer users a smooth and connected experience. Moreover, the company hinted that OnePlus TV would act as a smart hub for homes.

Recently, Pete Lau has shared another image that gives a sneak peek of the TV’s backside. From the image, the OnePlus TV looks to sport a kevlar back finish with a slight curve and has a metallic-finish support bar/stand. However, it is not clear as of now whether the company is going with aluminum unibody design or magnesium alloy, which offers better rigidity.

A few days back, Lau posted the  OnePlus TV remote image showcasing a brushed metal body. The remote features dedicated buttons including Google Assistant, OnePlus-specific apps, a control pad, a menu button, and an elongated button for additional actions as well. Finally, the remote features a USB Type-C port on the bottom for charging. In this case, there are chances that OnePlus might introduce Warp Charge standard for the remote, just like it did with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones.

In addition to the 55-inch TV, the company is expected to give consumers more options including 43-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch screen sizes in the future as this was spotted in the Bluetooth SIG certification website. The OnePlus TV is expected to be powered by the MediaTek MT5670 processor. It also has a Gamma Color Magic chipset that offers dedicated picture optimization besides the regular picture processor.

On top of that, the company also confirmed the support of Dolby Vision ultra-vivid imaging technology and Dolby Atmos immersive audio for its upcoming TV. Dolby Vision transforms entertainment experiences with incredible brightness, contrast, color, and detail that will bring movies & shows to life.
