Google schedules hardware event on October 15 in New York; Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixelbook 2 and more expected

Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL has been in a plethora of leaks and rumours for a while now and recently, a hands-on video also surfaced showcasing the Pixel 4 XL in full glory. Now, Google has officially scheduled a hardware event on October 15th 2019 in New York where it is expected to unveil the Pixel 4 Series, Pixelbook 2 and more.

The media invite by Google says “Come see a few new things Made by Google”  along with the date i.e., October 15 and the place i.e., New York City. Google is expected to formally unveil the Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixelbook 2, new Google Home speakers, Nest Mini and more. To recall, last year Google unveiled the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel Slate, new Chromecast, Nest Hub, among other announcements. So, we can also expect new devices apart from the Pixel 4 Series at this event.

In case you missed, a leaked hands-on video of the Pixel 4 XL reveals that it will sport a display with no notch and will come with 90Hz refresh rate. The settings app has a new “Smooth Display” setting that “dynamically adjusts the refresh rate between 60 and 90Hz” and this confirms the 90Hz refresh rate display on the Pixel 4 XL. There is also a “screen attention” and “Ambient EQ” feature.

According to CPU Z listing, Pixel 4 XL will sport a 6.23-inch 3040 x 1440 display, will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. It will sport dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12.2MP (primary) Sony IMX363 + 16MP Sony IMX481 (telephoto), and the front camera will be a 20MP Sony IMX520 unit.

Google Pixel 4, on the other hand, is said to sport a 5.7-inch Full HD+ OLED ‘Smooth display’ with support for 90Hz refresh rate and is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB RAM with 64GB/128GB internal storage.

The event is scheduled for October 15th at 10am ET (7:30PM IST) and it will offer live stream on its YouTube channel as usual. We should know more details in the coming days.
