Apple launches new 16-inch MacBook Pro with 9th Gen Intel processor, up to 64GB RAM, up to 8TB storage, India price starts at Rs. 1,99,900

Apple was working on a 16-inch MacBook Pro and previous reports, assets in macOS Catalina confirmed the existence of the new MacBook from Apple. Now, Apple has officially announced the all-new MacBook Pro sports a Retina display, 9th generation processor, up to 64GB RAM, up to a whopping 8TB storage, and more.

The new MacBook Air flaunts a larger 16-inch Retina display with a resolution of 3072 x 1920 pixels, up to 60Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness and comes with P3 wide color gamut. It is powered by up to 8-core Intel Core i9 processor with 2.3GHz base clock speed and can be boosted up to 5GHz. Regarding the GPU, it features the new AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics paired with GDDR6 video memory and with an 8GB VRAM option. It comes with up to 64GB RAM and the comes in 512GB and 1TB SSD configuration. But this time around, the storage can be expanded to a whopping 8TB.

Apple has also fixed the keyboard issues that plagued older MacBook models and has now introduced a new Magic keyboard with a scissor mechanism on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The new Magic Keyboard also features a physical Escape key (esc) and an inverted-“T” arrangement for the arrow keys, along with Touch Bar and Touch ID. The thermal design on the new MacBook Pro now features a larger impeller with extended blades along with bigger vents, and a 35% larger heat sink. This results in a 28 percent increase in airflow and enables significantly more heat dissipation.

It comes with a redesigned six-speaker system with Apple-patented force-canceling woofers that uses dual opposed speaker drivers to reduce unwanted vibrations that distort the sound. The connectivity options and ports include 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 720p HD camera, 4 x Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C with support for charging, DisplayPort, and also has a headphone jack, thankfully. It packs a 100Wh battery that charges through a 96W USB Type-C power adapter. Lastly, it is available in Silver and Space Grey color options.

Pricing and Availability

Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch is priced starting at Rs. 1,99,900 ($2399 in the US) for the base 512GB model and is available through Apple Authorised Resellers globally.
