realme today launched the most-expected realme X2 smartphone in India starting at Rs. 16,999. Even though it has the same display and design, this has a faster Snapdragon 730G SoC, packs a 32-megapixel front camera and has support for 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging. We got hold of the new Pearl Green color version, and here is our unboxing (in Tamil).

The phone has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.The phone is powered by Snapdragon 730G 8nm SoC with up to 8GB RAM and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with ColorOS 6.1 realme edition which has few visual changes, but the company said that it will get ColorOS 7.0 based on Android 10 in March 2020. The company uses GOODIX G3.0 in-display fingerprint sensor, which offers one of the fastest fingerprint unlocking experiences.
It has the waterdrop notch that houses the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors and a 32-megapixel camera with 1/2.8″ Samsung S5KGD1.
The power button is present on the right, volume rockers and dedicated SIM and microSD slots are present on the left and the loudspeaker grill, USB Type-C port, microphone and the 3.5mm audio jack are present on the bottom. On the top there is a secondary microphone.
The phone has quad rear cameras with 64-megapixel primary rear camera with 1/1.72″ Samsung GW1 sensor and f/1.8 aperture, while the 8MP 118° ultra-wide angle lens with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.25 aperture, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP camera for 4cm macro with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture are same as the realme 5 Pro. It has AI scene recognition, Chrome boost, Super nightscape and Expert mode. There is EIS support for video.
The phone has a 3D glass back with Corning Gorilla 5 protection and offers holographic effect when light hits at certain angles. The company calls it Hyperbola light effect. The back doesn’t get scratched easily, but attracts fingerprints. It has a 4000mAh battery with support for VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging via USB Type-C port that can charge up to 67% in 30 minutes and 0 to 100% takes just 75 minutes. It weighs about 182 grams, almost same the XT.
The realme X2 also comes in Pearl White and Pearl Blue colors, starts at Rs. 16999 and will be available from Flipkart and realme.com online and offline stores starting from December 20th, Friday. It is also offering Rs. 1500 discount for ICICI bank cards during the first sale.
